Battery storage has limited lifespan & high replacement costs.
❌ THORPE MARSH (1.4GW BESS) – Built on Landfill, Next to a Floodplain
Ground instability risks battery failure & contamination.
Flooding increases risk of chemical leaks into local water systems.
Batteries don’t generate power—they only store it for a few hours!

❗ More subsidies & higher energy bills – The government is funnelling billions in public money into these inefficient projects, while consumers will foot the bill.
❗ Expensive battery replacements every 10-15 years – Unlike gas or nuclear, these systems require constant reinvestment.
❗ Massive grid upgrades needed – The National Grid was built for coal power, not unreliable solar & battery storage.
