Green is not green. Renewables are not renewable. Net Zero is not zero.
For years, we’ve been sold a story — that “green energy” is clean, endless, and the only path to saving the planet. But strip away the glossy marketing and the truth is far less attractive:
1. Green energy is not green.
Wind turbines, solar farms, and giant batteries are built with concrete, steel, and rare earth metals mined under brutal, polluting conditions. Vast solar projects consume farmland, destroy habitats, and scar our countryside. Manufacturing panels and turbines is powered by coal in China, not clean British energy.
2. Renewables are not renewable.
Turbines last just 20 years before replacement. Solar panels degrade in decades. Batteries wear out even faster. All rely on finite materials ripped from the earth. Once the minerals are gone, or supply chains break, the fantasy of “renewable forever” collapses.
3. Net Zero is not zero.
Behind the slogans, we still burn gas and coal to back up windless nights and sunless winters. Every “green” megawatt requires fossil backup. Meanwhile, bills rise to pay for hidden subsidies, grid upgrades, and land grabs.
The truth is clear: green energy isn’t about saving the planet — it’s about selling an idea. And the public is paying the price.
