It is efficient — because people have no say.

⚠️ WHY LABOUR ARE COPYING IT

Labour’s 2030 Clean Power target and the Net Zero structure cannot be delivered under British democracy, because:local communities resist.legal challenges delay projects.councils block unsuitable sites.infrastructure takes time.the grid is at capacity.So instead of slowing down the ideological targe.Labour are redesigning the system to remove the obstacles. The public And the three tools they are creating mirror the Chinese model exactly:

The SSEP Britain’s First Central Energy Map.Just like China’s Five-Year Plans or zoning edicts, the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan will dictate:where energy must be built.where pylons must run.which regions are “sacrifice zones”what land is reclassified for industrial use.No vote.No local consent.No scrutiny.China does this.Democracies do not.

The Planning and Infrastructure Bill Central Government Override Powers.Labour’s Bill gives ministers the power to:bypass local authorities.override planning committees.speed up compulsory purchase.force through “critical infrastructure zones”quietly expand state power over private land.This is the same model China uses when it clears villages for new railway lines or energy corridors.

NESO & Ofgem Directives Technocratic Control Over Everything.NESO now decides:what generation is “needed”which regions must host it.who connects first.who is blocked.Ofgem enforces these decisions and discourages legal challenges by allowing networks to recover costs from objectors.This is the Chinese administrative style: bureaucrats plan, regulators enforce, citizens submit.

🔥 WHY ARE LABOUR COPYING THE CHINESE MODEL?

Reason 1: Their targets are impossible without removing consent.Clean Power 2030 cannot be delivered with democratic checks in place.So the checks are being removed.

Reason 2: They believe the state should control energy, land and industry.This is ideological.Central planning is seen as “more efficient” than the messy reality of democracy.

Reason 3: Quangos already run energy policy — Labour simply agrees with them.The CCC, NESO, Ofgem and DESNZ all push the same thinking:Net Zero first.Democracy later.

Reason 4: Chinese-style planning looks attractive when you are desperate to deliver big numbers fast.China can build 3,000km of transmission lines in a year because dissent is illegal.Labour wants similar speeds ,without admitting the true cost.

💣 THE DANGER TO BRITAIN

1. Countryside industrialisation,Farmland, green belt, and villages could be redesignated as “energy zones” with no appeal rights.

2. Loss of local democracy.Councils and communities will become irrelevant.

3. Legal suppression.Challenges will be punished or priced out.

4. Permanent constitutional change.Future governments may never be able to reverse the power shift.

5. Rising bills.Central planning has no price discipline ,China’s state energy debt is enormous.
