Despite sustained pressure from the council executive to approve the Marr Farm solar proposal, local councillors stood firm and rejected the scheme unanimously.
Councillors upheld the clear motion against large-scale solar development on productive farmland, refusing to be swayed by repeated assurances and persuasion from the executive, including Debbie Hogg and others.
This decision reflects common sense, democratic integrity, and respect for local voices. When it mattered most, elected members chose principles over pressure — and put land, community, and accountability first.
